e Are A Global Mission Partner Church
Our church has been designated as a
Global Mission Partner Church since 1997. We must meet six
requirements each year to keep the designation. These steps are:
Pay 100% of apportionments each year.
Have an ongoing program of mission education.
Be involved in local community ministries.
Pledge support for a missionary commissioned by the General Board of Global Ministries—(Covenant Relationship).
Pledge support for an international person-in-mission sent by a partner church in another country. (PIM Relationship).
Share your experience as a Global Mission Partner with two neighboring congregations.
Rukang Chikomb is our missionary to the Democratic Republic of Congo, operating Wing of the Morning airplane ministry. He provides emergency medical evacuation, delivery of supplies to remote areas, providing transportation and communication in the name of Christ.
We have a PIM relationship with the National Evangelical Primitive Methodist Church in Guatemala. Our support helps send a mission team for the regions of Santa Cruz del Quiche and Totonicapan to the areas of Momostenango, Solola and coastal region of the south where new churches have been organized. These visits are for pastoral and family counseling, pastor’s meetings, orientation seminars and workshops, as well as preaching.
The PIM (person-in-mission) relationships are established as grants for a three-year time frame to enable new areas of ministry or mission to get established and self-supporting. In the past we have supported workers at Madelena Children’s center in Angola. This center was teaching children skills such as sewing, and carpentry to children in poverty in an after school setting to better prepare them for earning a living and to keep them off the streets.
