    Bible Studies, Small Groups and Service Groups

    As individuals and as a community, we never think of ourselves as “finished”, but rather, we are called to continue to seek the next step God has for our learning and growth. Contact Pastor Anne-Marie Berg, , to get connected to Adult Sunday school or small groups.

     

    Sunday School

    Adult Sunday School classes meet on Sunday mornings. With a variety of different age, demographics, learning styles, and topics of discussion, you’re sure to find a class you love.     ABC SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS

    This class strives to achieve a balance between Bible study, historical context and application for Christian living.

    ART AND FAITH SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS

    Each Sunday at 10:00AM, the Art & Faith Sunday School class comes together and engages a great piece of art from the Christian tradition. Believe it or not, Da Vinci, Caravaggio, and Rembrandt preached but instead of using words, they used paint and canvases.

    DISCOVERY SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS

    This is a group of young and middle-aged adults that have a video based and discussion format.

    GOSPELS SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS

    This class studies the Gospels in depth and compares the various stories. It has a lecture and group discussion format.

    MODERN LIVING SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS

    Class studies involve the application of biblical teachings to our daily lives, with a video-based and discussion format.

    OPEN DOOR SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS

    This class prides themselves on their diversity and openness to discussion. It is lecture and discussion based.

    SEARCHERS SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS

    This is a group of older adults, who study the Bible using a video and group format. They strive to broaden their knowledge using historical and geographical aspects of biblical context.

     

    Short-term Studies

    Four- to eight-week studies give people a chance to learn about a particular topic while getting to know new people. Check out the church email (sign up here), Facebook, Instagram, or church calendar to view current and upcoming short-term studies.

    Small Groups

    Small groups are designed to connect people to a community of authentic relationships- relationships that will provide the support, encouragement, and accountability we all need to live the lives God is calling us to live.     KALEIDOSCOPE

    A small group that meets Tuesdays from 7:00 PM to 8:15 PM, both in-person and online. This small group consists of singles and married couples and features lively class discussions, a strong emphasis on service, and opportunities for fellowship.

    LECTIO DIVINA STUDY

    A group that meets every Thursday at 10:00 a.m. via Zoom.  Lectio Divina is a reflective and meditative way of reading Scripture. Pastor Mike facilitates this weekly Bible Study.

    PARENT SANCTUARY

    This group meets in Room 100 at 10 AM Sundays. Please join us in this class for parents of children, each Sunday morning in the Children’s Wing. This is a dynamic and nurturing group, supporting each other through the twists and turns of raising kids.

    SPECIAL NEEDS PARENT SUPPORT GROUP

    Parenting and loving special needs children is full of challenges and unplanned difficulties that you did not anticipate when you started your parenting journey. Join other caregivers and families experiencing the ups and downs of special needs parenting as they seek to support and lift one another up in community. Meets the second Wednesday of each month at 7pm.

    WORKOUT CLUB

    These workouts are perfect for any fitness level.  They meet in the event center every Monday at 4pm for Get Up and Move and every Wednesday at 10am for Stretch and Strength.

    Fellowship and Service Groups

    Piece Maker’s Quilters Group

    The Piece Maker’s Quilters Group gathers every Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in FL 105 and 106 to work on quilting projects for personal use and charity. Some of the non-profit organizations the group supports are ABC Quilts for abused children, pillowcases for Cook Children’s Hospital, and Quilts of Valor for wounded military veterans. The quilters also help support the church wide Holiday Extravaganza in the fall. Anyone interested in quilting is invited to join them on Tuesday mornings for a wonderful time of fellowship and quilting. No experience in quilting is required.

    United Methodist Men

    The United Methodist Men meet on the second Saturday morning of each month at 7:30 am for a hearty, man-cooked breakfast, a devotional, and also to discuss and plan mission initiatives.

    United Methodist Women

    United Methodist Women (UMW) is a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church. UMW meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 9:30 am. Please contact the church office at 817-281-5254 for more information.

    Women’s Mission and Fellowship

    Women’s Mission and Fellowship meets on the second Monday of each month from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. The group shares a meal and good conversation each meeting and engages in fun activities and mission projects together. Women’s Mission and Fellowship sponsors the GRACE Feed Our Kids program and other mission projects throughout the year.     Young at Heart

    Young at Heart is our ministry for senior adults. The group meets the last Wednesday of each month at 10:00 a.m., typically in the Narthex (please enter through one of the doors on the south side of the building), for fellowship, lunch, and a program. The group occasionally meets at local restaurants or other local destinations. If you are wise in years but young at heart, this is the group for you!
