Bring your furry friends and join us on Sunday October 6 at 4:00pm for the Blessing of the Animals. We’ll meet in the Prayer Garden and give thanks for the animals that befriend, enrich, entertain, and protect us. And if your pet doesn’t travel well, feel free to bring a picture of them to bless instead.
The time for Confirmation is almost upon us! Confirmation is a great opportunity for a child to take the faith we all have helped grow them in and to make it their own. It is their chance to confirm that they want to live out the vows of their Baptismal covenant. We also welcome them to bring their friends to learn and grow alongside them.
We will have a Confirmation Orientation for Confirmands and their Parents / Guardians that will cover the full process on September 15th at 10:00 a.m. at the FUMC Colleyville Youth Building. Confirmation itself will start on September 15th and run weekly through November 17th. Confirmation will conclude with Confirmation Sunday which will be on December 1st this year. In addition to the normal classes, we will also have a couple of field trips, a service project, and a Confirmation Retreat Evening during our time together as well. There will be more information on those events on September 15th.

Neighborhood Table is back! Join us in the Event Center at 6pm on Wednesday September 11 for a delicious dinner hosted by Open Door and the Gospel Sunday School classes. Dinner will include your choice of pastas – baked ziti, lasagna, fettuccine and mac & cheese for the kids – plus salad and dessert! Your dinner donation of $7 per person or $20 per family of three or more will support our Sager Brown mission.
And thanks to your generosity, our Amazon Wish List for Sager Brown Hygiene Kit supplies has been fulfilled! You have generously donated enough supplies for us to make 120 Hygiene Kits. After Neighborhood Table on Sept. 11, you will have an opportunity to help assemble those 120 kits. Proceeds from the dinner will help offset the cost of fresh toothpaste for the kits when they are distributed. Come and join us for some great food and lots of fun!

On September 29, your 10 Mission Team representatives will arrive at the UMCOR Sager Brown Depot, located in Baldwin, LA for a week of volunteer work.
The team could use your help supplying 120 Hygiene Kits, either by monetary donations (please put “Sager Brown Depot” on your check or electronic donation) or by purchasing Hygiene Kit items from the Amazon Wish List. The items requested and quantities are very specific, so we appreciate you purchasing from this list. Click HERE for the wish list; items should be shipped directly to the church.
Then, at the Neighborhood Table Dinner on Wednesday, Sept. 11, we will assemble 120 Hygiene kits using the items we have received throughout August. It’s a fun project and easy for all ages from 4 to 104!
